This way you avoid the spam filter

What is spam?

Spam is the abbreviation for 'spiced ham'. What does canned meat have to do with unsolicited bulk e-mail? The origin of the word can be found in the seventies in a sketch by Monty Python. Be sure to check out the SPAM sketch! It is about a couple at a restaurant who can only order dishes that contain the SPAM meat product. The word spam actually entered the digital world as a joke. Due to continuous technological progress, spam filters are becoming increasingly strict when passing e-mails in your inbox. Spam filters have a list of criteria that determine whether or not your e-mail message is spam. In the past, the content of the website was mainly filtered and there were blocklists that determined this. The two most important things to avoid spam filters are the reputation of your IP address from which you send the mailing and the reputation of your domain name. It is important to send a mailing regularly so that recipients get to know you and do not mark you as spam.

Take this into account

It is better not to send mailings from a no-reply e-mail address.
Do not include the word "test" in your subject line.
Watch out with 'spammy' expressions, for example: “Unique opportunity!” Or "Free!".
If you use a lot of capital letters and exclamation marks, you will appear too loud. Too many different colors in your text also create that impression. Limit this.
Try not to hide the unsubscribe link in your mailing too much. When readers have to search for too long, they will sooner refer to it as spam.
Make sure that text and images are well balanced or that you have more text than images. Then try to avoid as many symbols as possible in your text, such as the @ sign.
Segment the target group you are sending to.
It goes without saying, but it is best not to include 'RE' or 'FW' in your subject line to make the reader aware that you are continuing on a previous conversation.
Due to a sloppy HTML code, the recipients may have problems displaying the mailing. You, therefore, use a simple code with a good structure. So make sure that everything is put together technically, with or without the help of an expert.
